It's also very quiet and can be used when you're at work or at school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a compact, sleek package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also comes with an impressive suction system and an automatic vacuum cleaner bin for emptying. It's the best automatic vacuum robot hoover for carpets, although it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With an elegant circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxy units This mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive designs in our tests. The newest model from iRobot is its most advanced, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot vacuum cleaner reviews that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop that has a perfect 10 in our testing thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that is fully self-refill and empty its base station and it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to use. It comes with a simple mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This could be a problem in mornings prior to work or at night when you're trying to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, but it's not as pricey as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally powerful and look better. If you're willing to live with a bit more noise and some additional cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should please almost everyone.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a variety of sophisticated features that let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra.
