The i3+ isn't able to have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots that we test. It may get stuck on power cords and socks, and may have trouble navigating between different surfaces, like hardwood and rug.

iRobot recommends you clear out areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes putting away any clutter or toys it may encounter. You should also keep the dustbin and filter free of dirt to prevent them from getting blocked. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and automatically empties the dirt into the station's external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning from where it began. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for about an hour and a half continuous use, and takes around three hours to fully recharge.

The i7+ is more efficient and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin which eliminates the main sources of maintenance and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning session, move itself around the room, and even vacuum a specific space. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. We were able, once connected, to speak commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is a sports car in a sea of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It's powerful and has features to replace a stand-up vacuum for the majority of households, but it also fits perfectly next to the table for a coffee or the bookshelf, where you can move it around like a magic tool.

The V10 is powered with a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy, which produces power that is not fading for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then lets cleaner air into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to collect large dust and crumbs. It comes with three suction modes that can be adjusted to suit the task. It could pick up all kinds of debris and sizes in our tests and would often go over the same area multiple times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach corners and the edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and help you navigate your home.
