Evolution Korea

For a long time, Korea's scientific community has avoided engaging with creationists, afraid that it could give the movement more credibility. Silence is no longer a viable option.

Non-genetic changes, such as an increase in muscle mass from exercise or diet, can't be considered to be evolutionary because they aren't passed on to future generations.

Creationists are using the argument that evolution is controversial even though it has been proven to be accurate by thousands of scientific tests and it has been tested over time. STR claims to have the support of around 4,000 families and individuals. Its goal, it says is to cleanse the world of what it calls "atheist materialism" that paints an image of students as being negative. It also aims to counteract the influence of American creationists in the United States. A survey of trainees in biology revealed that half of them did not believe in evolution. The root causes are unclear however, they could be related to religious beliefs and the lack of full-time creation scientists across the country.

The KACR has accomplished a lot in the past through lectures and seminar events. It also publishes a bimonthly magazine called Creation and a book. One of them was a textbook on natural science that had a creationist perspective. This led to an interest in college communities. In 1991, a professor and minister began teaching Creation Science in one university, and it continues to be taught to this day.

On August 6-7 the 7th of August 1993, which coincided with the World Expo opened in Daejeon, KACR held a second International Symposium on Creation Research. Six lecturers from the world, including ICR's John Morris, Duane Gish and Steven Austin spoke to audiences of over a thousand.
